GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT POSITION AVAILABLE
A graduate assistant position (full time; 20h/wk) is available for a PhD or MS student to join the lab of Dr. Sarah Reed at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Reed’s laboratory focuses on the regulation of muscle satellite cell activity during growth and disease conditions, in particular the role of maternal nutrition during gestation on satellite cell activity and metabolism in the offspring. Research involves rodent and livestock work as well as cell culture models.
Candidates should be highly motivated, independent thinkers with a strong work ethic. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently and as part of a dynamic team. For the PhD position, candidates must have a Master’s degree in animal science, molecular biology, or a related field. Experience with cell culture, histology, and gene expression is desirable.
